I have two questions that I can't seem to find the answer to anywhere.
Every once in a while I will be sitting on a web page and all of the sudden the webpage will instantly try to go to this web address: http://myspace.flixster.com/myspace/home-iframe%3Fowner But I get a Gateway page that says, "Sorry we could not find this page". What the hell is going on?
My second question is every time I go to a page that requires a security log on such as my online banking or my online credit card account the browser freezes for like 2 mins but does eventually load. It only does it on sites like I mentioned though. Not any other sites. What's causing that?

I recently posted an ad on craigs list for a car stereo. It was answered by a man from the UK who agreed to purchase it immediately. The cost was $75. The next day he had a $700 check delivered to me through UPS. It appeared to be a Wells Fargo cashier's check to me but when I took it to the bank to cash it they told me that it was fraudulant. I have been googling and hunting all over the internet and am coming up empty handed.
If anyone knows a web site where I can find out what assets are exempt from collections under Florida law, I'd appreciate knowing where to find that info.
Please note this is not a bankruptcy question. I had a Ch. 7 bankruptcy six years ago and I can't do another one for at least two more years. In the meantime I have a lot of house-related credit card debt that I can't handle. I am already in pre-foreclosure and I am thinking of just letting the credit cards go.
I do not want to file a Chapter 13 and have to be accountable to a trustee for every penny that goes in and out of my life for the next five years either....
I realize that if I let the credit cards go, I will probably get sued and have one or more judgments against me. I have five credit cards, total of $17k in debt, and one of the balances alone is $6k.
I did find out that according to Florida law, because I am the head of household, I am exempt from getting my wages garnished.
The only assets I'm worried about protecting are my eight year old Honda, and my bank account. I don't have any money in the bank account other than paychecks that go in and out.
As I mentioned, I've been searching on the internet and can't find anything. I really need to know if I get sued by a credit card company, and if a judgment is made against me, if they would be able to seize my car and/or my bank account. Heres the deal....I work for my fathers small business, 4 years ago we bought Microsoft Office 2003, and our bookeeper set it all up, he uses excel the most, and so do I which includes our bank control. In my mind, it doesn't make any sense to charge a customer money they don't have as a penalty for not having money. To me, it's like being at fault in a car accident and the cop that tickets you starts bashing your car.
In this new age of the internet and instantaneous information, why do the banks still have to wait a few days for a check card transaction to go through? If I don't have the money, don't let the transaction go through.
Does anyone balance their checkbook if they don't write checks? Does anyone still write checks since most bills can be paid online? I feel like the banking system still relies on an archaic paper system to solely benefit themselves. Perfect example:
I write my rent check on the 1st of the month. My landlord doesn't cash it until at least the 10th or 11th, yet on my account, it dates the transaction to when I wrote the check, not when it was cashed or deposited. If I didn't have the money then, I'll get overdraft fees.
I understand banks are in the business to make money, but should they be allowed to do that for a simple checking account? Loans have interests so they're making money anyways. What else do you do with your paycheck and still have access to it besides put it in your checking account? You can't invest it because you can't pay bills with an investment.
I just don't think banks would lose that much money if they just got rid of overdraft fees. They already have everyone's money. Banks are almost a utility in my mind because you need them to maintain your finances. How else can you build credit or buy a house without a bank?
Thanks for the early replies guys. First, i think I might be wrong about the example I gave with my landlord. It shows up in my online statement as the day I wrote the check.
I guess what I'm really asking is if there's a way to penalize an overdraft without overdraft fees? Since everyone has check cards and uses them frequently, when I get hit with overdraft fees, it could be 5 and 7 at a time and at 35 bucks per transaction, it's even harder to get out of that negative hole. It's funny how I can have 20 bucks in my account and I can still make small purchases (coffee, lunch, cigarettes, grociers) all day using my check card spending well over the 20 bucks I have.
What about charging a larger overdraft fee once (say 50 bucks) and putting a temporary hold on the account? Or just putting hold if your account goes below 20 bucks?
Am I wrong to feel like the bank shouldn't let me make a 20 dollar purchase with a check card if I only have 15 bucks in my account?

Because I have a physical disability and want to work I have to work from my fully set up home office. I am a retired Bank Manager with extensive experience in banking and finance and have been working with MYOB Accounting Plus for >10 years. I have 8 clients, 5 of which aren't cost effective as they are love jobs. I would like to quit theses 5 and replace them with 1-2 client who can give me say 3 hours week to compliment my existing base. With current clients I have internet banking access with my own user id so I undertake the total administration for these clients. All they do is deliver paperwork once weekly which I check to I/banking and file. All clients are happy with my pricing and work performed having been doing it for several years. I've tried newspapers, noticeboards, accountants and word of mouth from existing clients.
Any ideas to obtain 1-3 clients with say 3 hours week.

(FIRST STEVE SENT THE LETTER TO THE CORPORATE OFFICE AND FOLLOWED IT UP WITH A PHONE CALL. BUT MY FRIEND STEVE KNEW THE CEO WOULD NEVER SEE THE LETTER AT THE OFFICE SO HE OBTAINED THE CEOâ™s HOME ADDRESS AND MAILED IT TO THE CEOâ™S HOME)
HERE ARE EXCERPTS FROM THE LETTER STEVE WROTE:
(1) When I was helping the safe deposit attendant one customer (male) came into the branch to go into his box. I signed him in and he and I retrieved his box from the vault. When he went into the coupon room he realized that his sister was waiting on the banking floor. He asked me if I could watch his box while he would go and get his sister. I told him that I could not do this but I could go and get his sister, which I did. As his sister was walking to the coupon room the branch manager ran after him. And as the coupon door closed, the branch manager knocked on the door and asked the sister if she was on the signature card for the safe deposit box. The sister said no she wasnâ™t so the branch manager kicked her out of the room. Of course the sister and the customer was upset. I decided on my own to check with the higher ups and they told me that only the person who is on the signature card can retrieve the box but that person can bring in as many people as they want into the coupon room.
(2) And one couple came in with their five year old son to go into their safe deposit box. The son held my hand the entire time he was at our branch and walked with me wherever I went. The branch manager said to me in a nasty tone of voice: "You are not allowed to walk with him" The couple was upset because every time they came into our branch and I gave their son my undivided attention he came out of his shell and made many friends at school.
(3) The branch manager told one of my coworkers when the branch manager and the coworker had a disagreement that this coworker needs to go to see a psychologist. And the branch manager printed out and handed to my coworker two pages off the Internet on what psychologist to see.
(4) About two weeks ago in the morning I asked the branch manager if she needed any copying done and she replied: I am a grown woman I don't need any one asking me if I need copying done. . Let me tell you on a professional level I am here just to work.

Please keep in mind this coworker is the most professional person I know and she is quieter than a church mouse trying to avoid a cat.
(9) The branch manager is supposed to put in 40 hours. However, she comes in late (around 9AM) and leaves 3PM or 4PM.
10) The branch manager has made trouble in the other branches she used to work at. One person that worked with her at another branch said âœThank God she is no longer at our branchâ .

I have cancelled online twice for an upgrade for Norton Internet Security that was stopped by Norton because I had already had Norton 360 upgrade. I cancelled the same day twice that was a week ago and they have not credited my bank account.
Norton 360 did not remove 2 viruses and a spyware. I would get an alert 2 or 3 times a day to reboot and Norton 360 would not remove them at all. It costs me $150 to get my hard drive reformatted and software reloaded with a new virus and spyware protection. I also cancelled the 2 year subscription for Norton 360 to be reimbursed for the remaining amount because of the damage that was done to my computer.
I have looked online for a phone number which I can't find. The only thing I found was an online chat support which I have to download and I refuse because of the damage Norton has already done to my computer.
Any information you can give will be greatly appreciated.

I got married in March, but haven't started living with my husband yet. I was talking to him the other day how we would pay our cost of living when we live together. We both are going to work full-time until we start having kids. I think that we should bring our checks home, each of us keeps a couple hundreds $ as allowance, put the rest in one bank account, then pay our cost of living from that bank account. My husband thinks that he should keep the $ he earns and I should keep the $ I earn, then we do something like "I pay the phone and the internet bills, and you pay the rent, etc." I think it's too complicated.

By internet work, I mean applying to the job banks, filling out forms and even filling the company sites forms (this in itself is a job). I'm not talking about Monster and all those job banks or job agencies. They don't do half of what I'm talking about. I'm talking about a service several notches higher. I would like a personal job seeking assistant or a service like that. One who does the data entry stuff for you online such as apply to job banks, company sites, help you create cover letters, resumes, and I just get the leads, get the interview, do the interview and the followups. Not only that but this service will evaluate every stage of me getting the job. He will evaluate how i first contact them, how my interview went, and help me create follow-up letters and remind me to do follow-ups and keep track of each company I deal with. This person would have all my job info to perform his tasks and the goal of getting me the job. If there is a service, what companies do this?
