Open Question: Can't login to any secure website!!! HELP?

i have wireless internet and for the past 6 months, i could not log in to any secure website such as banks, collegeboard.com, e-mails, purchasing something online, etc. i can login to myspace however. does this have something to do with my wireless internet connection or firewall or SOMETHING? and if so, how can i fix it?
oh yeah, i use mozilla firefox but it doesn't work in internet explorer nor netscape. whenever i click "sign in/log in," it brings me to a "page cannot be displayed."

Everything is at your fingertips. However, like most, Internet has its own advantages and disadvantages.

Communication of course is one of the best features you can get from the internet. You can talk and even see your far away loved ones in a fraction of seconds, chat for hours, e-mail services are provided by many companies for free, such as Hotmail, Yahoo mail, Gmail and others. Still; innovations are going on to make it faster and more reliable.

Information is perhaps the biggest advantage internet have to offer. Search engines like Yahoo! and Google are at your service. There is a huge amount of information available for just about every subject known to man.

Students are among the top users of the internet, it's almost required that students should use the internet for research for the purpose of gathering resources.

Entertainment is another popular reason of why too many people spend lots of time surfing the internet, and thatâ™s all because you can download games, pictures and music, watch videos, celebrity gossip, meet new interesting friends, follow sport events and find new interests and hobbies.

People like getting some services done for them by the internet because is much easier, faster and it cost less than having them done offline, services like online banking, job seeking, purchasing tickets, hotel reservations and also teaching programs.

Commercials are almost in every page you surf in the internet, which helps business deals, fashion and electronics and other companies.
Online shopping websites like e-bay and Amazon are well known by people, they sell everything clothes, shoes, phones, cars and even pets, you name it.

People may face problems like theft of personal information if they use the internet such as name, address and credit card numbers etc.

Spamming refers to sending unwanted e-mails in bulk.

A computer virus is a program that copies itself and infects a computer without permission or knowledge of the user. viruses may take advantage of network services such as the World Wild Web, e-mail, Instant Messaging and File sharing systems to spread.
Some viruses are programmed to damage the computer by damaging programs, deleting files, or reformatting the hard disk. Others are not designed to do any damage, but simply replicate themselves and perhaps make their presence known by presenting text, video, or audio messages. They can result in system crashes or slowing down of the computer and it's also very difficult to find and stop the problem.

Pornography is perhaps the biggest problem exists in the internet; there are lots of pornographic sites on the internet that can be easily found.

Internet can also be time wasting for students who need to focus on their studies.

Anyways you can see that the advantages of the internet outweigh its disadvantages.

Resolved Question: Helping children in US!?

I'm over in Italy adopting my 5th baby girl. I'm looking at the condition of these poor children, and wish I could adopt another! Anyway, I'm realizing now that we have child in United State like this too! I really wish I could be a foster parent for these children. We have a 7 bedroom house, so we have an extra bedroom upstairs (the entire 2nd floor is just bedrooms and bathrooms). Then the 3rd floor has a giant internet cafe style area (the downstairs is a playroom), but it also has 3 rooms off of it that are a good size bedroom. What do you think of once the baby arrives and is a little older, having foster children. I mean, my husband and I could suport it with our jobs right now (I work full-time, but I mainly work from home). Actually, we have a "charity" bank account set up to help us with whatever chairties we look to do in the near future. Would they let a parent of 5 have foster children? What does the job of being a foster parent inculde? What do most states give you moey for (food, clothes, toys, etc)?
I know that's my only draw bacl. I really know that I will get attached with children the minute I see them. Most likely, I will end up adopting all of them, but the more the merrier! I don't know why some people are so against having big families!
Like I saif full-time, but mostly working from home and my husband has flexiable hours, so he can come home the days I need to work.

Open Question: I'm so depressed right now and i dont know what to do,?

I have a job that I've really started to hate so i decided I would like to do an open university course, if I am unemployed and on benefits it would cost me nothing (and they would pay for a computer and internet access in some cases), but seeing as I do the decent thing and work it would cost Â£3,670 plus books and other materials. I'm not saying I would want it for free, but why do the people who work have to subsidise the people who dont. I know some people who are unemployed cant help their situation and I have nothing against genuine people but it winds me up that we are treated like a piggy bank for the spongers and the workshy. Life is depressing enough when you have to work every hour God sends for peanuts without seeing lazy people reap the benefits of your hard work and getting more out of life than you could ever hope to. It's not fair,is it!
Strapping, I know those that can help help those who need help, but my point is those that "need help" get more out of us than we can give ourselves (or the majority of us). If you work hard you should be able to at least afford to educate yourself if you so desire, without risking bankruptcy! So much money is stolen from under our noses which is not for our benefit and I (and many other people) have started to question why this is happening. I thought I was working for my benefit once, but now I see i dont benefit half as much as people on benefits!

These are the 50 keys of what happened,'' August 1984. Josef Fritzlar, an electrician in Austria 50 years, holds her daughter Elisabeth, 18, in the basement of his home in Amstetten, Austria.

2. Amstetten. Locality Austrian located northeast of the country, in Lower Austria, with about 22,600 German-speaking inhabitants. Birthplace of Josef Fritzlar, 73 years ago. At a nearby gas station, on the motorway from Vienna to Salzburg, he worked Elisabeth in the early 80.

3. APRIL 2008. Kristen, a girl aged 19, was taken to hospital with symptoms of being seriously ill. It is one of the daughters Elisabeth, now 42 years. Open Question: Looking for an inexpensive food staple that isnt as carb laden as rice or ramen?

OK, so yes, I'm in college and I'm trying to keep up with rent and my second largest expense is food! Ramen and rice are already my staples, but I already gained the ol' freshman-fifteen and I'd like to find stuff that isn't as unhealthy to eat every day. Broccoli is a food I found recently that is inexpensive and healthy and not too hard to prepare. Well im pretty sure im not gunna get approved for a credit card. So i was wonderign whats the best prepaid card to get that i can put around $700 on to order some stuff off the internet? i'm wondering if anyone can help me please.

i read up on the internet and spoke to our accountant who deals with our pays, holiday etc. she told me that I and my other work mates are aloud 20 day holiday and + 8 public bank holidays which makes it 28 holiday days.

but my boss at the moment thinks that it is 24 day hoilday minus 8 public bank holidays off that which leaves me with only 16 days per year, and as i work along side the council we are shut for 8 day which i have to take as my holidays (i have no choice).

so i'm only stuck with 8 days through out the year

is my boss telling the true or is our accountant right?
i do work 5 full days per week

also do you by law have to pay your employee's a bank holiday if they would of worked it if it was a normal day?

Do people really get in trouble for this stuff!! A guy in the netherlands stole my identity, was using my bank account for shopping online. I have all the evidence from my bank and the companies he was shopping from, the guys information, phone number , address, etc...I even called a police department in the netherlands and spoke to someone there for about twenty minutes who confirmed this guys address and name for me that he does exist but he says he cant arrest him until he has a police report from the US. My police department wont do anything!! They said because he was using the internet I had to contact the IC3 - internet crime complaint center, well that was almost a month ago and No response from them.whatssoever!!..So, basically this guy is going to get away with my money and not get in trouble??

Open Question: How do I open a Canadian dollar denominated checking account in the US?

We live in the Los Angeles area, with primary bank Wells Fargo, and secondary ING Direct. Considering the effort we had to make to get Canadian currency from WFB last year, it's unlikely that they offer any such accounts, but it IS possible.

We're looking for a way of opening either a $CDN bank account in a local bank (chartered in Canada, or not), or one we can access over the Internet. My wife is a dual citizen and has a SIN, if that's needed, but any interest would be taxed solely in the US by treaty.

I am little nervous because I thought I was bidding on a listing.... my agent assures me- if the bank accepts, it will be no difference. But she is afraid we are going to get out bidded by like $5.00 or something stupid. And we bid low- thinking it was a listing.... and they would counter offer. My agent is calling and calling everyone.... and not getting answers. She said she is going to stop by the township and see if they have any information. Is this completely insane or what? Has anyone ever bought an auction house? Can you tell me the steps on how it works?

Virgin Media mistakenly charged me a twice for about 10 months for an internet account. I didn't notice for a while becuase they charge one amount to my credit card and one amount to my bank account. Hello All,

I am looking into getting a new software for my company. we sell everything from Carhartt clothing to chain saws. (www.labonville.com). It will need to do Point of Sale for our registers as well as do all our banking and financial stuff. We were hoping to switch to Quick Books Multi-Store but it does not pre-authorize credit cards. We need our software to do this because we take orders over the internet and over the phone. Any help you guys can give us would be great. We have multiple locations that connect to our main office via a VPN. They will also need to be connected into this software.

Voting Question: 500$ rent to parents reasonable?

Ok since i graduated college, i moved back in to my folks house, currently living in the basement. I work Mon threw Fri 8am till about 9pm everyday. I literally have no days off. ( About 1 or 2 per month if you want to get technical). Well iam making good money i guess, about 750 per week, but i pay all my own expenses. Recently my mother informed me that my stepdad, ( who doesnt contribute to the mortgage here, my mom pays it all) wants me to pay 500$ per month rent. Yet iam only here at night. Do you think this is abit strange? He doesnt contribute, yet he wants me to pay 500$ a month? Also, i bring them food home everynight as a token of appreciation! Iam not tryin to be selfish, but this idea was put in to play, by them, as an idea for me to try to get some $$$ in the bank so i can have some stability when i get an apartment on my own. Plus, since i work for AT&T, i have the internet, advanced TV, and Landline here, which i pay for! Which is discounted ofcourse. But still! ???????
